Wednesdays are for wine and food and… Tastings and dinners on Wednesdays
We will be doing a blind tasting of Washington Rieslings and Syrah. Each wine will be tasted on its own and paired with food. Guests are asked to bring a dish to pair and share with either a Riesling or a Syrah. To help with the planning please join team Riesling or team Syrah and let us know if you are joining us and what type of dish you are bringing. This event is limited to 10 guests.
I will join a team later as the guest list firms up. I will be providing an intermezzo between the white and the red. I am thinking watermelon mint sorbet?
The intermezzo sounds perfect and very seasonal. I know the tasting is blind but for purposes of pairing with the Riesling can we find out whether or not there is dry, off-dry, etc.? I am okay with no knowing also as it will be a great opportunity to see why a food goes better with a dry Riesling than an off-dry one and vice-versa. Now I need to decide which to pair – Syrah or Riesling?
